There’s something about team sports that makes you feel more connected—not just to the game, but to the people you play it with. At Brucira, we believe in bringing that energy off the screen and onto the turf. On Friday, 4th April, we hosted our third internal football match, and it turned out to be the most exciting one yet.
The Match Everyone Was Waiting For
This time, we gave everyone a two-week heads-up, and the buzz started right away. People were already talking about which team they’d want to be on, who would score, and who would probably run out of breath five minutes in. Unlike our last game, where we had around 15 people show up, this time, 24 enthusiastic team members confirmed their participation— the entire offline team. So, instead of the usual two teams, we went big and planned for three: Red, White, and Black.
Game Day Begins
The energy was electric, even before the match began. Everyone worked till 3:30 PM and then began packing their gear, slipping into their jerseys, and lacing up their cleats. Some folks came extra prepared with brand-new football gear, while a few even ordered their jerseys right then and there in the office—talk about last-minute team spirit!
The weather added its own little twist—a cool breeze and a sandy sky, thanks to an unexpected mini-sandstorm. But honestly, it just made the setting look even more cinematic (shoutout to the drone footage 👀).
We arrived at the turf, surrounded by hilly views and the kind of air that makes you feel like something fun is about to happen. After a quick round of warm-ups and stretching, we decided match lineups via a toss. First up: White vs Black.
White vs Black: A Storm of Goals
The White team, captained by Kalpesh, and the Black team, led by Bravin, took their positions. Fun fact—Kalpesh and Bravin were probably the only two who knew how to play football properly. The rest of us? Just here for the good vibes and occasional chaos.
But once the whistle blew, the game was on. The White team didn’t waste a second. With quick passes, strategic runs, and sheer enthusiasm, they managed to score four goals, leaving the Black team scoreless. Goals were bagged by Kalpesh, Ritesh, and Tanmay, making it a clean sweep for White.
To make it even better, our co-founders Harsh and Siddhita went live on Instagram and captured the match with a drone. Yes, we went full FIFA mode.
Red vs White: Battle of the Best
There was no time to lose—the White team had to defend their win against the Red team next. The stakes were high: the team that triumphed here would take home the victory. The Red vs White match turned out to be a nail-biter. Every player gave it their all, pushing limits and diving into every move.
When the final whistle blew, the match was tied, pushing both teams into a tense penalty shootout. Team White edged ahead with 2 goals to Red’s 1—securing their spot as the undisputed champs of the day.
Mixing It Up: The Friendly Match
But the day wasn’t over. The best part about Brucira games? It’s not just about winning. It’s about having fun—and that’s exactly what we did next. We split up the Black team members and merged them with Red and White to play a final friendly match.
This round was full of laughs, experimental plays, and everyone finally getting their moment to shine. Whether you were chasing the ball or just running behind it for fun, it felt great to play together—across teams, across departments.
Ending on a High (and a Full Stomach)
Tired but smiling, we wrapped up the games and headed over to Hungry Head, a favourite local joint. We ordered a glorious mix of three types of Maggi, fries, dosas, and enough drinks to cool down after all that action.
The match highlights turned into shared jokes, and sore muscles were eased by laughter and conversation. It was one of those moments where work, play, and team spirit all melted into one beautiful blur.
More Than Just a Game
Our third football match wasn’t just about who won or lost (okay, fine, Team White—you earned the bragging rights 😎). It was about what makes Brucira… Brucira. Spontaneity, bonding, healthy competition, and lots of fun. The turf wasn’t just a field—it became a playground of creativity, teamwork, and pure joy.
As the evening drew to a close and we all headed home (thankfully, to a weekend of rest), one thing was certain—this match would be remembered. Until the next game, of course!
