Every internship is a learning curve—and for Purva Chavan, currently working with us at Brucira as a Product Design Intern, it’s been exactly that: a journey of steady growth, exploration, and plenty of learning.
In this blog, we’re sharing a glimpse into what it’s like to intern as a product designer at Brucira, through Purva’s experience.
How It Started

Purva came across Brucira while exploring places to apply to. A college friend mentioned us in conversation, which led her to do a bit of research and eventually send in a cold email to our team.
That email kickstarted her application process, which involved three rounds. The first was a conversation with Harsh, our co-founder, followed by an assignment round to understand her thinking and design approach. The final round was held on-site, where she met with Roshan. Through this process, we got a sense of her approach, curiosity, and willingness to learn—things we deeply value.
Why She Chose Brucira
When asked why she decided to join us, Purva shared that it came down to a few key reasons:
- The opportunity to grow and learn
- Exposure to a variety of industries and clients
- Being part of a design agency where the pace is fast and the challenges are diverse
For her, it was a chance to work on real products and sharpen her skills in a collaborative environment.
What Her Work Involves
As a product design intern, Purva works on a mix of UI screens, digital assets, and interaction design. Her day-to-day tasks range from visual design to exploring new tools and approaches based on project requirements.
One of the projects she’s currently involved in is with a client called Zinc.
Designing for Zinc
With Zinc, the work is quite dynamic. Sometimes she’s building assets for the product; at other times, she’s creating brochures or helping out with presentation decks. Recently, she even got to explore a bit of Lottie animation, something she hadn’t worked with before.
Some wireframes Purva worked on for Zinc.
She mentions that collaborating with Zinc’s in-house design team has been a positive experience. They’re open to her ideas and provide space for her to explore and contribute, which has made the process both engaging and educational.
Working With the Team at Brucira
According to Purva, one of the most rewarding parts of her internship has been the people.
She describes the Brucira team as warm, welcoming, and easy to approach—something that’s made asking questions and learning feel natural. Whether she’s stuck on a task or simply wants feedback, someone is always available to help. She appreciates the collaborative culture, the informal brainstorming sessions, and the fact that everyone genuinely wants to help each other grow.
What She’s Learned So Far
In just a short span, Purva has picked up a variety of skills—
1. UI/UX Foundations
She’s developed a stronger understanding of usability, layout, and user flow—focusing on how design decisions impact real users.
2. Working with Design Systems
From components to spacing, she’s learned the importance of consistency and scalability in digital products.
3. Exploring New Tools
She’s experimented with AI-based tools and Lottie animations, expanding her design toolkit beyond the basics.
4. Client Communication
By joining meetings and discussions, she’s learned how to translate feedback and business goals into visual solutions.
5. Iterative Design
She now approaches feedback as part of the process, refining ideas through multiple rounds to reach the best outcome.
Her Thoughts on the Experience
When we asked Purva to reflect on her time here so far, she summed it up simply:
“It’s been great so far. I’ve been learning something new every day—whether it’s a tool, a design principle, or how the industry works. It’s helped me understand how to approach design more holistically.”
A Few Final Words
Internships can mean different things to different people. For us, they’re not about assigning tasks—they’re about creating space for growth, exploration, and mentorship.
Purva’s journey so far has been a great example of that. She came in curious, willing to learn, and open to feedback. In return, she’s been able to work on live projects, collaborate with clients, and develop her skills as a designer.
On 8th April, she officially transitioned from a product design intern to a full-time Product Designer at Brucira—and we couldn’t be happier!
We’re glad to have her with us and excited to see how she continues to grow.
